no ignition of (1) burner, poor ignition of (1) burner
First I diagnosed the problem with on-line help and ordered replacement parts. Once the parts arrived: shut off gas supply, unplugged power cord and disconnect supply line from regulator. Next I lifted unit from counter top cutout and placed upside down onto work cart. (grates & knobs were removed first).
Remove regulator and sheet metal cover, transfer wires from old to new spark module. The new module was longer and I had to drill a new hole for mounting.
Next I installed the spark switch by disconnecting the supply line to the burner, transfered the wires to the new switch, loosened the gas manifold, removed the old switch by gently raising the gas supply line, just enough to slide down the old switch and install replacement. After that, assemble in reverse order.
When everything was hooked up the poor ignition burner worked great but the no ignition one still had no spark.
The morale of it all: if there's poor or no ignition, especially on an older unit, replace the Spark Module and all Spark Switches. I bought one more switch and got the no-go burner working but the remaining (2of4) burners, while functional are not as crisp starting...but I got real good doing the repair the 2nd time around.
